GRAMERCY PARK HOTEL TERRACE PARTY

The Gramercy Park Hotel terrace provided the chicest setting for Tara’s 40th birthday party. She’s in good company, this storied New York rooftop is where Humphrey Bogart married Helen Menkin in 1926. Tara celebrated with her closest friends, two young daughters and a son due a few months after her birthday. The colorful spring palette set the stage for a spirited evening, which included the Bumbys and one of New York’s best DJs. Gramercy Park Hotel is also one of my favorite Manhattan wedding venues. This New York institution has hosted celebrities from Mick Jaggar to John Waters and continues to be one of New York’s most stylish and creative venues with updated design by artist Julian Schnabel. There are so many rooms within the hotel that provide great settings for parties, and my favorite is the rooftop terrace, where the entrance is framed by a 16000 light bulb sculpture designed by Annika Newell, a truly unique setting! Secret tip – as an overnight hotel guest the doorman will grant you access to the fabled and locked Gramercy Park across the street, the only private park in Manhattan.
