In photography, the depth of a family connection can reveal itself in an instant. This is why it’s important to me to be constantly aware of the bride and groom’s immediate family throughout the wedding day. Being constantly vigilant, I make sure to hunt for, and capture, as many connection revealing moments as possible. Weddings are truly family events and every relationship is important! In this regard, I was so excited to have Carats & Cake feature several beautiful family moments, with one of my favorite images of a groom and his father, on the cover. Their trending feature, titled “Moments that melt our hearts,” is the perfect way to honor Father’s Day!
Capturing this featured moment with Ed & his father on his wedding day was an unexpected surprise, as these candid moments always are. Right outside of the Surrey Hotel, Ed was about to walk in to the Penthouse to see his fiance as a bride for the first time!
Carats & Cake’s Father’s Day post inspired me to make a small post with some of my favorite candids of this genre. Each image captures an unplanned moment, and speaks volumes about that special relationship between dads and their children on their wedding day! I know that their grandchildren will be looking at these images decades from now.
